The Ohio County Development Authority is hiring for the position of IT Technician. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Some flexibility of hours and Overtime will be required. This position includes full benefits and is scheduled to commence around February 1, 2020.
The IT Technician will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining all systems of the Ohio County
Development Authority including but not limited to Computer Hardware/ Software, CCTV, Access Control, AV and other technology systems.
Duties and Responsibilities will
include, but are not limited to:
Set up workstations with computers, printers and other peripheral devices
Monitor and maintain systems, networks and connectivity
Respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests for assistance
Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
Troubleshoot and Test systems to ensure systems are properly working.
Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without interrupting work time
Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
Possibly train additional IT staff in the future
Other applicable duties and responsibilities as presented by manager.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Degree or Proven Experience in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication ability
Outstanding organizational and time- management skills
In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Must be able to lift fifty pounds waist high.May be required to sit or stand for extended periods whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bend. Must have a valid driver's license.
